Big Compost Experiment

The Big Compost Experiment is a nationwide online citizen science project on compostable and biodegradable plastics (launched November 2019), created in collaboration with Prof. Mark Miodownik and the UCL Plastic Waste Innovation Hub.

The study investigates the effectiveness of home compostable packaging in the UK, gathering public opinion on compostable and biobased plastics, food waste strategies and home composting.
